Some kind of healing herb.

Lindolirian 04-19-2004 03:50 PM

Yup, I bet it was actually tobacco...

NightKnight 04-19-2004 03:57 PM

Hmm, either that or something very illegal. Maybe that was why they thought they could just walk into Angband and steal a silmaril?

How old was Bëor when he died?

Arvedui III 04-19-2004 04:34 PM

He was 93, I believe.

NightKnight 04-19-2004 04:38 PM

Yes he was.

Arvedui III 04-19-2004 04:46 PM

On the subject of Beor, what was his original name among his people?

NightKnight 04-20-2004 01:26 PM

Balan.

Lindolirian 05-02-2004 07:52 PM

The ten days are up, so I'd say it's your thread, NightKnight. :D

NightKnight 05-03-2004 12:26 AM

Yeah, I think so too. :D

How many of Finwë's grandchildren were alive at the end of the First Age?

Fingolfin II 05-03-2004 01:06 AM

2- Maglor and Galadriel. Three if you count Finrod's reimbodiment.

NightKnight 05-03-2004 05:37 AM

Yeah. I'm not sure if you could count Maedhros as well, but whatever. Go ahead. :)

Fingolfin II 05-04-2004 01:29 AM

Cheers, ok, how many Elves died fighting Balrogs during the First Age?

Thorongil 05-04-2004 05:36 AM

Hmmm, a few thousand? Or do you mean named people? I can think of three.

NightKnight 05-04-2004 06:23 AM

I know five, Fëanor, Fingon, Rog, Ecthelion and Glorfindel. And there was another one in Gondolin, but I can't remember his name. (He was leader of one of the Houses, and was hit by a firebolt from the balrogs.) Oh, and also Rog's people, lots of them. All I can think of.

Fingolfin II 05-05-2004 02:00 AM

Yeah, I meant name them. NightKnight got 5, so he's up.

NightKnight 05-05-2004 02:13 PM

And as always, I keep thinking up great questions for this thread, but I always forget them. :D

Uhm...name all the people who owned silmarils during the first age.

Lindolirian 05-05-2004 02:37 PM

If you mean "First Age" as in after the rising of the first sun, then it would be:
Morgoth, Beren/Luthien, Carcaroth, (Mablung), Thingol, Dwarves of Belegost, Dior, Elwing, Earendil, Eonwë, Maedhros, and Maglor. If you mean anytime before the Second Age, you would have to add in Fëanor.

NightKnight 05-06-2004 01:31 AM

I meant First Age, so you are absolutely correct. :)

Lindolirian 05-12-2004 08:04 AM

Sorry for the delay...

Who was the first man to see Belegaer?

NightKnight 05-12-2004 09:24 AM

Tuor?

Lindolirian 05-12-2004 03:41 PM

Sure thing.

NightKnight 05-12-2004 03:54 PM

When Fëanor's sons attacked the elven settlement at the Mouths of Sirion, elves from five cities lived there. Which?

Lindolirian 05-12-2004 03:56 PM

Brithombar, Egalrest, Nargothrond, Gondolin, and Menegroth.

NightKnight 05-12-2004 03:57 PM

Yes.

Lindolirian 05-12-2004 04:03 PM

To whom did Mîm refuse to give his "earth-bread"?

NightKnight 05-12-2004 04:04 PM

Turin?

Lindolirian 05-12-2004 04:06 PM

Nope.

NightKnight 05-12-2004 04:13 PM

Hmm...Beleg then?

Lindolirian 05-13-2004 09:22 PM

Umm well I don't know, but the one I'm thinking of Mîm specifically told him he wasn't gonna feed him.

symestreem 05-14-2004 05:20 AM

The one who killed Khim. Given a name in the Narn i Nin Hurin, I believe, but I don't know it.

Firefoot 05-14-2004 02:21 PM

Ulrad.

Lindolirian 05-14-2004 05:57 PM

That's the fellow, Firefoot!

Firefoot 05-15-2004 07:15 AM

Thanks. List 6 other names for Túrin.

symestreem 05-15-2004 07:42 AM

Turambar, Gorgol, Neithan, Mormegil, Agarwaen, Wildman of the Woods.

Firefoot 05-15-2004 07:31 PM

Yes. And congrats on your Ghost Princedom. :)

symestreem 05-16-2004 10:57 AM

Thanks, Firefoot.
Who predicted that the Stone of the Hapless should never be thrown down? Whose bodies are in the Stone of the Hapless?

NightKnight 05-16-2004 12:53 PM

Glirhuin; Morwen, Turin and (Nienor).

symestreem 05-16-2004 02:26 PM

Oui.

NightKnight 05-16-2004 03:19 PM

French...that is over my ability. :p

Where was Boromir lord?

Firefoot 05-16-2004 03:21 PM
