Who was responsible for the building of Henneth Annun and other refuges in Ithillien?

@Carnimírië: The northern line has nothing to do with Gondor and Rohan - but no problem

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-14-2005 05:37 PM

Was it Steward Túrin II ? ? ?

Telchar 09-15-2005 12:23 AM

Ja, Den sku' være fin nok Rune - velkommen til dyssehøjene ;) Du stiller det næste spørgsmål.

And for those not familiar with Danish (guessing taht Rune is):
Correct - welcome to the Barrow Downs - you're up!

:)

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-15-2005 04:02 AM

Mange Tak.

OK, this is the first question i ask in the Barrow-Downs so maybe it is too easy.

Who was second in comand of the éored of westfold at the time of the war of the ring?

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 04:44 PM

Eomer was it not?

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-15-2005 05:12 PM

Desvære

Nope, but close.
Eomer was in charge of this éored, the job comes with the title:
Third Marshal of the Mark

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 05:13 PM

Grimbold?

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-15-2005 06:29 PM

Sorry

Not if remember corectly

But i have realised that this was a bad question. Becourse of the strange organisation of the rohirim. (Grimbold to have a title and comand of a part of the army from westfold)

So let's just move on, Gil-Galad you just take it.

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 06:32 PM

alrighty then...

Name the foe that Gondorians battled twice, but one only one of those battles, and name who died at that battle

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-15-2005 07:06 PM

Was it the wainriders ?

If it was then it was Narmacil II who died

Gil-Galad 09-15-2005 07:13 PM

aye the wainriders and that dude, your turn

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-15-2005 07:27 PM

OK.

I hope it's a better question this time. . .

Who removed the kings house to Minas Anor?

Nilpaurion Felagund 09-15-2005 07:48 PM

Tarondor. :)

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-16-2005 03:48 AM

So it is.

Your turn

Nilpaurion Felagund 09-16-2005 10:03 PM

Thanks!

What was the name of Théoden's sword?

The Perky Ent 09-16-2005 10:14 PM

An icon that fits the question!

Would that be Herugrim?

Nilpaurion Felagund 09-16-2005 10:46 PM

Yep.

The Perky Ent 09-22-2005 01:45 PM

Following the same sort of topic...

What was the name of Theoden's horse?

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-22-2005 02:48 PM

Snowmane !

The Perky Ent 09-22-2005 03:36 PM

Cheers!

I yield the thread to you!

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-22-2005 04:09 PM

What is one to ask ?

Thank's

Whats the name of Helm Hammerhand's sister?

Hiriel 09-22-2005 06:34 PM

Herm, that would be Hild.

Rune Son of Bjarne 09-22-2005 06:39 PM

And the winner is . . .

Yes it is.

Too easy ?

well the thread is all yours.

Hiriel 09-29-2005 05:36 PM

Nah, it was hard. I just love the Rohirrim, though. Speaking of,

Who, besides Eorl and Cirion, were present at the swearing of the oath of Eorl?

Rune Son of Bjarne 10-08-2005 05:38 PM

I cannot find a place where they mention them by name, but was the Prince of Dol Amroth there ?

Hiriel 10-09-2005 04:19 PM

I'll take that, Rune. :) It's mentioned in Unfinished Tales that Hallas son of Cirion, the prince of Dol Amroth and two other of the stewards council went up with Eorl and his chief captains to Amon Anwar, to hear the swearing of the oath.

Rune Son of Bjarne 10-09-2005 05:06 PM

You are too kind. You realy are!

I must have missed it somehow!

Witch king of Rohan dwelled in Gondor from his coming of age, to the begining of his kingship ?

Hiriel 10-10-2005 12:28 PM

I think that would be Theoden.

Rune Son of Bjarne 10-10-2005 12:39 PM

close

Not the answer I was looking for!

You are close Hiriel, Theoden was born in Gondor.

P.S. you and me Hiriel together we will restore the quiz-room to its former glory !
What do you say?

arcticstorm 10-10-2005 08:57 PM

I think it was Thengal

Rune Son of Bjarne 10-11-2005 05:04 AM

Correct, Thengel it was. (Theodens father)

You go on arcitcstorm!

arcticstorm 10-12-2005 08:55 PM

Did Boromir ever become steward of Godor? explain your answer.

Rune Son of Bjarne 10-13-2005 11:26 AM

Well no.

The steward is a "replacement for the king, Since the middle years of the 3. age the Stewardship became hereditary. Therfor Boromir could not become a steward before Denethor died, sice Boromir died before Denethor he could not become a steward.

He was how ever captain of Gondor

(I have a wierd feeling that steward of Gondor has a nother meaning too! Otherwise it seems to obvios) :p

arcticstorm 10-13-2005 11:32 AM

nope

Hiriel 10-13-2005 12:35 PM

Well, a Boromir became the 11th steward of Gondor, if that's what you're looking for. The Boromir who traveled with the fellowship is named for him. But, I'm more inclined to think that the second Boromir is the Boromir. ;)

arcticstorm 10-13-2005 12:49 PM

YOu are right Hirel with the 11th steward of Gondor, that's what I was looking for
your turn

Hiriel 10-13-2005 04:37 PM

Okiday. Herm...

Name three times Rohan aided Gondor in war.

Gil-Galad 10-13-2005 04:39 PM

Againest the Wainriders, at Pelenor Fields and... either with Thorongil or the Usurpers...

Hiriel 10-13-2005 07:14 PM

Yeah, sure. That works. Your thread Gil-Galad. :)

Gil-Galad 10-13-2005 07:42 PM
