Gaerys, The Awesome

Lindolirian 03-04-2004 06:43 AM

the Awesome? ;)

Gaerys it is!

luthien-elvenprincess 03-04-2004 03:35 PM

Who held Daeron's runes in higher regard than his own people?

NightKnight 03-04-2004 03:52 PM

The dwarves.

luthien-elvenprincess 03-04-2004 08:49 PM

Hey, you just got the right answer to a question of mine in another thread! Gotta good thing goin on...
:D Your turn.

NightKnight 03-06-2004 10:37 AM

Hehe, that has happened to me too. Always people answering my questions...:p

Anyway, a question. What was the new name for Cabed-en-Aras, and why was it renamed?

Arvedui III 03-06-2004 10:43 AM

Cabed-en-Aras was renamed Cabed Naeramarth, the leap of doom if I remember aright. It was renamed such after Nienor lept off it to her death.

NightKnight 03-08-2004 01:08 PM

Right-o. Your turn. :)

Arvedui III 03-08-2004 06:46 PM

Thanks. Herm....Who was the love of Finrod Felagund?

The Perky Ent 03-08-2004 06:58 PM

Is it Galadriel?

Finwe 03-08-2004 07:07 PM

Amarië of the Vanyar.

Umm.... Perky Ent... that would be incest... Galadriel was his sister.

Arvedui III 03-09-2004 06:36 PM

Thank the Valar Finrod didn't go the way of Turin. Finwe has it. Your go.

Finwe 03-09-2004 07:44 PM

Thank the Valar indeed.

Nimble fingers bore fell fire. Fell fire bore wounded fox. Wounded fox bore bright jewel. Bright jewel bored through darkness.

(The answer to the riddle is the line mentioned.)

NightKnight 03-13-2004 08:59 AM

Something with Beren and the Silmaril?

The Perky Ent 03-13-2004 09:17 AM

Finwë, yes i know that Galadriel is Finrod's sister, but...it was a random guess! Um...is the answer...um....(random again) Earendil?

Finwe 03-13-2004 11:13 AM

Haha... it's all right...

Nope, both answers are incorrect.

Look closely at the word "fire." Go over all of the people in the Silmarillion, and pay attention to their epessi.

The Perky Ent 03-13-2004 11:39 AM

Maedhros?

Finwe 03-13-2004 05:59 PM

Close, but not the answer that I was looking for. The answer is the name of a line (or of a House).

The Perky Ent 03-13-2004 06:21 PM

Fingolfin?

Finwe 03-13-2004 07:19 PM

Nope.

Fingolfin II 03-13-2004 10:38 PM

Feanor?

Miriel 03-14-2004 06:14 AM

Right. I'll be daring and attempt to explain my answer. ;)

Nimble Fingers=Miriel (her epesse Serindë means 'needlewoman')
Fell fire=Feanor ('spirit of fire', etc etc)
Wounded fox=Maedhros (gained the 'fox' nickname due to red hair)
Bright jewel=Silmaril

So ... I s'pose it's Finwe's line, as Miriel can't be said to be of the House of Feanor.

Finwe 03-14-2004 01:53 PM

Yep. Your go.

Miriel 03-16-2004 03:33 PM

Name the three mariners who sailed with Earendil on his most famous voyage.

NightKnight 03-16-2004 03:42 PM

Falathar, Erellont and Aerandir.

Miriel 03-17-2004 11:18 AM

That's good, go ahead. :)

NightKnight 03-18-2004 12:37 PM

What was the place called where Fëanor burned his ships?

symestreem 03-18-2004 03:09 PM

Losgar, in the Firth of Drengist.

NightKnight 03-19-2004 09:03 AM

Correct, your turn. :)

symestreem 03-19-2004 03:15 PM

Describe the battle that had no name. (I don't mean describe it in detail; I would say name it, but... ;) . Just identify it.)

NightKnight 03-19-2004 04:49 PM

It was the first battle in the Beleriand Wars, basically it was Morgoth vs sindar elves.

symestreem 03-20-2004 07:14 AM

Yes.

NightKnight 03-20-2004 07:18 AM

What was the tower called where Orodreth ruled, before and after it was taken by Sauron?

Miriel 03-20-2004 07:28 AM

Oooh, yay, one I can do without referring to a book at all. :D The tower is Minas Tirith, and....
*pause*
Okay, maybe not. Erm, the isle is Tol Sirion, and this is changed to Tol-in-Gaurhoth. Does the actual tower's name definitely change...?

NightKnight 03-20-2004 07:34 AM

Correct.

Miriel 03-26-2004 03:52 PM

Sorry for the delay.

Okay ... um ... easy one ... name the elf-maiden that followed Turin when he walked in Doriath.

symestreem 03-26-2004 03:59 PM

Finduilas?

Miriel 03-26-2004 04:20 PM

Nope.

Firefoot 03-26-2004 06:29 PM

Nellas.

Miriel 03-27-2004 08:35 AM

Right. :)
