I am new on here! I am known as Princess_Fairy my real name is Brittany! I come from South Africa (RSA). I love Tolkien, he is just like my hero. I have read most of his books! Some of them which I have treasured and some which I did not get into! I love the movies and this website! I found this website about a week ago through a pen pal! I never knew about the forum until BethBerry told me about it. I spend a lot of time on the chat room, with the intelligent and the unintelligent! Hope to meet new and exiting people!

Hello I am new here, my partner and sons think I am obsessed. I found this site, while looking for more Tolkien sites. I am always in one forum or another, I also like to chat. I have loved Tolkien ever since I read the Hobbit to my eldest son, who is now almost 23. The best thing about the LOTR movies is, Tolkien books that were out of print, are now available because of the interest generated by the films.I love this site. and will probably post lots in the forums.

Greetings all, I am Herudaeglîn, and for those who do not know, it means Lord Shadowgleam in my Sindarinized name. I was an elf of Gondolin and later Gil-Galad's realms but both have fallen and I now hail from Imladris. I remain in Middle-Earth because I do not wish to see my ancestrial home on Tol-Erresea as of yet. I will help all who needs the abilities or a Noldorin elf in exile, all they need to do is ask.

Hi all.

I registered on 26 March, and this is only my 3rd post. I am a regular member at another Tolkien board, and after being there a year I thought I'd check out The Barrow Downs.

I did register here more than a year ago, but my account was deleted. *shrug* I have a better name now anyway.

I have been browsing over the last few days. I do roleplay, but I might wait until I've gotten used to BD before I join any of the RPGs here.

My favourite part of the site so far is the quote found at the top of each page.

This site sometimes has very strict rules about posting. You need to always stay on topic, and the topic always needs to relate to Tolkien. I would highly recommend you read the "Barrow-Downs FAQ" at the top of the Novices and Newcomers forum. These are very handy and will answer many simple questions that most new members have. Additionally the Search function is a very useful feature of the site (so you don't repeat topics), and if you have a simple question that cannot be answered in the FAQ, try to find a previous topic about it, because chances are we have already discussed it, or send a personal message to an experienced member, most of us would be very welcomed to help with anything you need.
