how long did that take you to come up with Morm?

mormegil 08-23-2006 03:28 PM

++Gandalf

He has far too many names for the credits to fit.

Gil-Galad 08-23-2006 03:46 PM

++Gandalf

Firefoot 08-23-2006 03:50 PM

++Ingwe

There was an early push to get rid of him, and nothing came of it. He's really not a very interesting sort at all; gets to Valinor and sits at the feet of Manwe blah blah blah. No one likes a goody two shoes.

Lalaith 08-23-2006 04:19 PM

Gah, I think I forgot to vote yesterday. Not too bothered about Osse getting voted off, mind you, pain in the backside for his wife and frankly for everyone except the dreary keening Teleri.
Still, must keep up the Gandalf push.
++GANDALF

Happy to resume normal service on the Ingwe front once old greybeard's gone, Firefoot.

Hope you're feeling better, wilwa.

The Elf-warrior 08-23-2006 04:33 PM

++Smaug the Magic Dragon

Do we really need 2 firebreathers on one island?

Yet you didn't like Osse and want Gandalf :p. Hyporcrite! :D ;)

Diamond18 08-23-2006 05:22 PM

+ + Gandalf

Because I'm a dog with a bone and I shall continue to gnaw. Come on, who really wants Mr. Gandalfini to whack all the other contestants? That's what he's trying to do, mark my words!

Firefoot 08-23-2006 05:23 PM

Just because Osse's not a goody-two-shoes doesn't mean he's not obnoxious.

And I don't think I ever said that I wanted Gandalf to survive (I don't want him to win, anyway) - I just like resisting your bandwagons. :p

Kuruharan 08-23-2006 05:51 PM

++ Gandalf

It always seems to take two votes for me to boot a person, but I always get them in the end.

Elf-Warrior has a point - we don't need two dragons.

And besides that, though I've had peaceful Survivor dealings with Kuru in the past he's just too much fun to annoy! :D

Diamond18 08-23-2006 07:06 PM

We don't need two dragons like we don't need chocolate or good music or many other things that are not strictly necessary but do make life better. :p

True, but chocolate & music don't get in jealous fights that lay waste to the entire island. :eek:

Think of the ratings my friend!

Volo 08-24-2006 12:45 AM

Seems that the saving Gandalf mission won't work today, but a try is better than none... And I'll simply keep the lane of not agreeing with morm.

++Gmaug, a greedy creature that gets killed in a useless journey of revenge, just because a hobbit stole his golden cup...

Macalaure 08-24-2006 02:37 AM

++Smaug

Not only is two dragons one too much, but a sorry excuse of a dragon like Smaug is absolutely superfluous. Dragons, especially flying dragons are a terrible misconception anyway. The bodies of these creatures are fortresses, with the only vulnerable spot being - their belly?? I mean, even if you don't know of it, being unable to kill a flying dragon with a lot of arrows is almost impossible, statistically.
Back to the drawing board, Master Morgoth.

wilwarin538 08-24-2006 08:45 AM

I have decided to vote for:

++ Gandalf the Grey/White aka Mithrandir aka White Rider aka Grey Wanderer aka Grey Fool aka Stormcrow aka Greyhame aka Grey Pilgrim

You're right, he has way to many names. ;)

Votes so far:

Gandalf - 6
Ingwe - 1
Smaug - 4

Nogrod 08-24-2006 09:00 AM

I would like to have had both of our prime contestans on board but it seems
pretty late now.

Quote:

Not only is two dragons one too much
And I would say that three dwarwes is a way too much (dwarves: no offence, just too many of you on the game... :p )

So where is the balance?

(and if one must get rid of one dragon, why on earth get rid of Smaug with its personality?)

=Firefoot about Ingwë
He's really not a very interesting sort at all; gets to Valinor and sits at the feet of Manwe blah blah blah.
So as my last desperate attempt, relying at first to Firefoot's accurate description just to get my vote in:

++ Ingwë

Nogrod 08-24-2006 09:16 AM

Alright.

Case Ingwë (additions to Firefoot's case).

1) A puppet of a storyline, no real character but just someone to fill in for a name of something that had to be told = no persona in his own right. (compare to Smaug or Gandalf!!!)
2) Someone totally taken away by some wonders and chep tricks with light and pompous architecture and shining corners.
3) Making decisions concerning his race on the basis of a desire.
4) Uncharismatic leader as he managed to gather the smallest amount of followers (compared to Finwë and Elwë).

Tuor in Gondolin 08-24-2006 09:36 AM

+ + Ingwe

What's an Ingwe, precious? We says it canst hold
up under torture like poor Smeagol (gollum, gollum). :(
Yess. It just stays nice and safe and lets other nassty
elvses with bright swords do its dirty work. We hates
it, we hates it forever!

littlemanpoet 08-24-2006 09:49 AM

I'm nothing if not consistent. Not voting off wizards or dragons.

++ Ingwe

Boring dude, sitting at the foot of the gods all his life long.

Nogrod 08-24-2006 09:53 AM

Gandalf - 6
Smaug & Ingwë - 4

We have time still...

Meneltarmacil 08-24-2006 09:55 AM

++Ingwë

We need to keep Gandalf around, and it's not like Ingwë really has much to do besides just sit there.

The Only Real Estel 08-24-2006 10:16 AM

-- Smaug

++Ingwe

Though I still think two dragons is too many I'm not so fool that I cannot see by Firefoot's & Nogrod's cases that Ingwe deserves to go before Smaug. And if it still accomplishes my task for the day of 'saving' Gandalf (though I don't want him to win, of course) than that's a plus.

Volo 08-24-2006 10:56 AM

--Smaug

++Ingwe

Seems, that I move with the facion... :( But this does save Gandalf.

Macalaure 08-24-2006 11:05 AM

--Smaug

++Gandalf

Let's have a double eviction! :D

Rune Son of Bjarne 08-24-2006 11:08 AM

++Ingwe

I like Gandalf better

Eomer of the Rohirrim 08-24-2006 11:15 AM

Nay, Mormegil! My task is done!

Anybody intrested in voting any of these off ?

mormegil 08-24-2006 12:38 PM

++Gandalf

Out of sheer principle.

Volo 08-24-2006 12:57 PM

++Smaug

same reason as morm...

Firefoot 08-24-2006 02:07 PM

++Goldberry

Another character that I don't understand how she has made it so far. Really, what does she bring to the table? She seems to be there purely as a complement to Tom - certainly she's no better than him, even if slightly less annoying. But if Tom doesn't deserve to stick around, why should she? She's hardly distinctive in herself; even her epithet "River-daughter" is in reference to someone else. Daughter, wife... she can't even live independently, as Tom has to bring her lillies. If she can't support herself, she sure isn't helping anyone else on the island...

Nogrod 08-24-2006 02:09 PM

Three hurrahs for the wise players who turned the insane tide at the last hours!

Hurrah!
Hurrah!
Hurrah!

:)

Kuruharan 08-24-2006 03:26 PM

Time for a vandetta

++ Gandalf

Okay, so it will take more than two votes I'll still get him in the end because evidently nobody wants him to win.

Do we want to have a real climax ending or just do away with interesting personas in passing to leave a random charismatic person in the end to stand up with a nobody? Quite an anti-climax I say...

Or is there a secret agenda which calls us to note certain characters and leave the others alone. A small conspiracy perhaps? :rolleyes:

Maybe we should unravel this plot by voting out all those characters that have not yet received a single vote or who have been most arduosly been defended by "the gang"? Surely there are more people here than possible plotters.

Hah.

:D

Happily joining the crusade here, at least before any better candidates are brought forwards... :)

Who's got the personal vendetta, eh?

Shameful. What would the professor say about this blatant xenophobia? Anyone whose name hasn't been broadcast in lights (like Gandalf) is automatically slaughtered like a pig, in Nogrod's ideal world!

Stop the madness. End the slaughter. Get rid of hamfisted mob bosses like Nogrod and Gandalf!

Two dragons and only one island? That's just asking for trouble.
