Now what?

Next week (starting Sunday) is my grace week when I get a lot of time off, so it'd be an ideal time to start a game.

The game itself is quite simple; the one thing different about it is that I'd like those who play to have as their secondary focus (primary focus = winning, of course) telling a good story through the game.

If people are up for it I'll get a signup thread asap; however, I don't want to do anything to proceed until I've heard from Nog because I know we've kept him waiting for a while.

Well, I followed the previous game so I think I have it, but I'll be consulting this thread if I forget anything. It looked like a lot of fun though, so I'm excited :D

Well the last one was anything but a normal game as we didn't get to know the roles of those who died - and was thence an extra-challenge and well, different. But just check a game where the mod tells s/he'll make a pretty standard game and you can see how it goes.

And bah... I came into these games with no preparation whatsoever back then. :)

Okay, Mnemo's game is ending within a day, but I will not be able to host a game until the end of August or early September.

So someone should once more over-ride me. I will just be away from the 'Downs from the early August to the late August with a too tight a RL schedual...

But to those interested let me reveal some initial things from my game to come (as I have finally created the concept).

You’re a bunch of rangers of the north and not some cattle to be slaughtered. You make a fight for it Day or Night – and you face some gruesome werewolves who have infiltrated your company getting better Night by Night unless you harvest them down!

Coming to your ‘Downs werewolf in late August or early September…

It's decidedly selfish of me to say it, but I'm glad, Nog that you can't start that game until September, because there's no way I can play in the next one, and if there's any way I can play in your ranger game, I wantss it, preciouss!

Erm... yeah.

Seriously... it sounds intriguing indeed; though you haven't laid out the rules, there is a flair of... shiriffs maybe? Or lovers? Something nice and complicated along those lines. And the story is in Arnor with Rangers! *likes Arnor and Rangers*

And, heh, if it's in September, there's even a chance (slim, but better by a long shot than August) I'll be able to play. I'm starting my graduate studies this fall, so my daily schedule should *hopefully* be more conducive to WWing, though we'll see. More conducive, anyway, than the summer holiday schedule is proving, and September should antedate most assignments.

And I haven't even mentioned the best thing of all: if Nog is moderating then he won't be playing! This means I won't start the game with a Philosophy-of-WW archnemesis. :p

Of course, I realise what this means... whoever does moderate an August game will moderate an even better game. I can only concede defeat now and sit here, ( :D <-- Green with envy) knowing how horrid is my lot in life.

You express interest in modding and then the list is basically updated. It's revised according to the number of times you've modded (people who haven't get first dibs) and occasionally you can sweet talk your way in if you've got a time-sensitive idea (like last November when I hosted a US politics (sort of) based game right around election time).

So basically? You want to mod, just let us know.

Although I'd say it being advisable to play a few games yourself before modding one. Modding is fun but one needs to understand the dynamics of the game somewhat before modding a game.

My month of intense crazy business is almost over, and thankfully ending even sooner then I thought it would!!!! So I am so in for the next game, as long as it doesn't start before next monday. Not really sure where this game is at, but I'm sure I don't have to worry. Then that'll be it for me til like.......Christmas, haha. Looking forward to a bit of WW fun before real life kicks in again.... :D

Most definitely! :D I'm planning a basic, straightforward game - but have 2 ideas for a 'theme' I'd like to try out one of 'em. I won't work you too hard, I will mostly just ask for your help before the start in picking out teams, but that I can explain more later.

Right now, after Lari's game I think Eonwe is next. Than I will just wait on word from Nogrod. He has a certain time available to go, so if he's ready and able, take it Nog :). If not, I'll go...which means I'm guessing late August-early September?
