Oh well I am too ignorant to have noticed that lol... oiooh harder to think up questions almost... Ok lets try:

Who was "sitting on his horse with his knights about him; and the falling Sun shone upon them and made all their harness to gleam like red gold", what was the occasion and what significant event had happened there previously?

Gil-Galad 06-04-2004 09:00 PM

Imrahil maybe?

Mithalwen 06-07-2004 12:08 PM

No, but not a million miles away. :p .... I liked Imrahil, I guess it was inevitable that they would omit him from the films but I am still sorry....

Gil-Galad 06-07-2004 03:21 PM

Faramir? Forlong?

Mithalwen 06-08-2004 11:52 AM

Nooooo ...but Faramir is as close as Imrahil ;) ....and Forlong is way off the mark ....maybe thinking of the occcasion would help ....

Sirithheruwen 06-11-2004 11:15 AM

Theoden? When he and his company were about to ride to the Pellennor Fields?

Mithalwen 06-11-2004 11:23 AM

Nooooo not Theoden......... but reasonably close in time and space.....

NightKnight 06-11-2004 02:02 PM

Eomer?

Mithalwen 06-13-2004 10:18 AM

Eomer is as close as Faramir and Imrahil (literally!).... Oh everyone here seemed to know the books so well - maybe I tried too hard not to be obvious........

Carnimírië 06-14-2004 11:45 AM

Aragorn when he said farewell to his friends at...I believe it was the Gap of Rohan?

Mithalwen 06-14-2004 12:10 PM

Yes to parting with Aragorn (and Eomer, Faramir and Imrahil were left at Edoras!!!!!) ..but not quite the Gap but i am not going to be that picky after so long- the event was Pippin looking in the palantir........ over to you Redjewelled one!

Carnimírië 06-14-2004 12:19 PM

Ok, which king of the Mark could have been said to have been "boared to death" (spelling intentional)?

NightKnight 06-14-2004 01:36 PM

Folca, who was killed by the Boar of Everholt. :p

Carnimírië 06-14-2004 02:18 PM

Yep. Seeing that entry in the list of the kings in Appendix A really tickled me :D

NightKnight 06-14-2004 07:23 PM

Who, except Eorl, was buried in Eorl's mound?

Carnimírië 06-14-2004 07:42 PM

That would be Felarof the killer horse.

NightKnight 06-15-2004 04:51 AM

Killer horse, eh? Makes me think of the killer rabbit in Monty Python. :D

Your turn, of course. :)

Gil-Galad 06-15-2004 06:48 AM

"i'd soil my armour if i was so scared!"

" whats it gonna do? nibble your bum? "

heh great stuff....

Carnimírië 06-15-2004 09:57 AM

Who was Bergil's uncle?

Mithalwen 06-15-2004 11:47 AM

Iorlas .... quite as old as Peregrin Took.... :D

Oh they all say it's only a rabbit.....

Carnimírië 06-15-2004 11:49 AM

Right, Mithalwen.

Mithalwen 06-15-2004 01:18 PM

Thank you but now ..the hard bit..... for me not you perhaps......

His son attempted a path which his namesake in the film refused.....

The Perky Ent 06-15-2004 06:30 PM

I'm slow, so I don't get it, but...Arathorn?

NightKnight 06-16-2004 11:36 AM

Brego. His son Baldor tried to go through the Paths of the Dead, which Aragorn's horse (also named Brego) didn't dare.

Mithalwen 06-16-2004 12:03 PM

Yes..that's it Brego... was worried it didn't make sense.....:D Actually I thought that the book paths of the dead was much creepier but nvm... Over to you..

NightKnight 06-17-2004 06:03 AM

Yeah, I think so too.

What colors were the banner of Rohan?

Sirithheruwen 06-17-2004 08:59 AM

White and green?

NightKnight 06-18-2004 08:16 AM

Yep.

Gil-Galad 06-18-2004 04:47 PM

*a very weak bump*

Sirithheruwen 06-19-2004 08:11 AM

Oops, sorry...

Who was Theoden's bane?

(Sorry it's so easy, but I don't have access to my books this weekend.)

Gil-Galad 06-19-2004 02:37 PM

his horse i believe ...it was shocked from the fell beast

The Perky Ent 06-19-2004 03:48 PM

Gil-Galad is probably right, but, the Witch King? gotta go for the obvious ;)

Gil-Galad 06-19-2004 04:07 PM

it actually said in teh book that Snowmane (theodens horse) was the bane of his death...

The Perky Ent 06-19-2004 04:36 PM

But I must try :D

Sirithheruwen 06-20-2004 06:27 AM

Sorry, Perky, I'm accepting Gil-Galad's answer because he was first and that was the answer I was thinking of.

Gil-Galad 06-20-2004 12:19 PM

OOOOOHHOOOO <devilish laugh>

so now you have taken my old avatar? very clever, but you must pay...NO VISA!

anyway...

another easy one, name the holder of keys

The Perky Ent 06-20-2004 06:34 PM

If your talking about the Keys of Orthanc, Saruman.

Gil-Galad 06-20-2004 07:28 PM

close but no

The Perky Ent 06-20-2004 09:30 PM

If, as my sig says, the Keys to Barad-dur, Sauron?

NightKnight 06-21-2004 03:30 AM
