6. the betrayers walked unders whos banner

Miriel 02-14-2004 12:22 PM

Caranthir's? (Thinking of Ulfang and his sons.)

Gil-Galad 02-15-2004 07:30 PM

Can you explain that please?!?

Miriel 02-16-2004 02:06 PM

Well ... as I said, I was thinking of Ulfang and his sons Ulwarth, Ulfast and Uldor. They walked under Caranthir's banner to the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, but betrayed him and the other sons of Feanor by going suddenly to Morgoth and driving in upon the rear of the sons, and along with the band of evil men Uldor had summoned and kept hidden they scattered Maedhros' host.

Gil-Galad 02-17-2004 06:37 PM

just checking, yo ucould've meant Caranthir walked under Ulfangs banner...(the way you set up anwser)

7. Name the two who fought aganest the evil with bright weapons

Lindolirian 02-17-2004 07:13 PM

Turgon who fought with the sword Glamdring which shone in the presence of Orcs, and Beren who fought the power of Carcharoth with the brilliance of the Silmaril.

Gil-Galad 02-18-2004 05:46 PM

nope! Hint: these 2 people fought together

NightKnight 02-19-2004 09:00 AM

Fought together? Would it be Tuor and Ecthelion?
But I would like Fingolfin there, and maybe Fingon?

Gil-Galad 02-20-2004 05:25 PM

nope!!!

Lindolirian 02-20-2004 09:43 PM

I don't think I quite get your "bright weapons" hint... Expound that a bit if this hunch isn't correct: Gwindor and Guilin?

Gil-Galad 02-21-2004 09:26 AM

Gil-Galad and Elendil

I understand how Narsil, later known as the flame of the west could be a "bright weapon", but what about Aeglos, the snow point? That's what tripped me up... Anyway, your hint gave it away...
